In the previous episode Anne and George are visiting Houston where Anne is giving a lecture at Rice University.

They are due to return home by air the next day.

After a dinner with friends George later that evening, on returning to the Hotel, begins to feel unwell and tries to sleep.

In the morning George is very nauseated and begins to vomit severely. He grows weak and they decide to go the Methodist hospital to get help with the nausea.
